Baby Sheldon's First Photo/ Dr. Appt

There He/She is!!!!
Novemeber 30th 2011; 3:30pm...Baby Sheldon's first photo!


Today we went to Baby Sheldon's first appt to see that he/she is truly there and that all is going well. We are going to Cirlce of Life in Ogden to Dr. Darren Housel. He delived my sister in laws 3 children and we think he is great!

We walk in the facility and I am amazed with how relaxing it is. All the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Once in the room we are giving a new baby bag with all the necessities in it to take care of myself and baby! Then we watch a video about pregnancy of course while we wait..so nice.
Dr. Housel comes into the room and confirms I am pregers:) Then I had questions of my own of course. Mike gets so embarassed at Dr appts with me cuz I make sure to ask about EVERYTHING. So I ask about medication, face wash, getting my hair dyed, my ulcer, dense kidney? and so on! All are a good to go!

Then he leaves the room and I strip down for a Vaginal ultrasound......ahhhhh!

So forgot to mention...in our goodie bag we are given a free disc that we bring to each appt to record each ultrasound on and have as a keepsake!:)

So with DVD in the player ready to record and that stick thing lubed up it was baby looking time....

OMG! He/She is SO tiny! .....then the BEST time of the whole appt came...Dr. Housel turned up the sound and we got to listen to our baby's heartbeat!!!!!! The feeling is undescribable. This tiny miracle has gotten a hold of my heart and is never letting go.

It is truly a miracle to have something so small (as small as a sweet pea) change your world and to love him/her more then anything:):)

Pregnant? Does that E.P.T say pregnant?

When the questioning started:
I missed my period on Friday 11/18, but I gave it a couple days thinking I might be off from going off BC at the end of Sept and I have only had one period which was HELL since going off. On Moday 11/21 I could not wait any longer, while Mike was at work (he works graves at the Jail) I ran to Wal-Mart and picked up a fancy digital PG test. I am very careful in making sure to do things right so when I read the instructions saying 'best time to test is in the morning' I was a little disappointed. So I waited, got NO sleep at all!

The test:

Mike gets home at 6:00am so I got up about 5:00am to test. Here goes the first one. While you wait the stick has an hour glass......The test said it could take up to 3 min for results. So here I am sitting there looking every so often at this little hour glass for a result. Finally after what felt like forever but was really only 1 minute that wonderful, exciting, change our world word showed pretty clear! Again in the box came with 2 tests, why? I guess to be certain so of course I pulled out the second to be SURE. Again the waiting came, not as nervous this time! AGAIN it read PREGNANT! Yep we are!

Telling Mike:

I actually thought of this before testing just to be prepared. I was going to send him on a scavenger hunt to find the test about the time of my lunch so he would come see me after he found it. However, I was so exicted and decided I wanted to see his reaction so I sat up in bed with my postive test under my leg WAITING for him to get home. I think I was more nervous this time then waiting for the results. I hear the garage door open and my heart is beating a million miles per hour! There is his footsteps up the stairs, palms are sweating. Now he normally comes gives me a hug and kiss before getting undressed but why this day he didn't IDK...grrr him. So I tell him to come give me a hug cuz I knew I couldnt walk to him. He comes hugs me and as he is hugging me I ask him "What you doing in July?" He looks at me confused.....

The reaction

I pull out the test and say 'Thats when our babies due'!!!! He first asked if I was serious lol then hugged me so tight and we both cried for a min and then it was pure excitement from there.

I am so excited to see Mike as a dad ! He is wonderful with kids and has the best heart ever! He has been excited from day 1 touching my belly always. We plan on telling the parents mid Dec then the rest of the Family at Christmas time! It has been hard keeping it a secret especially over Thanksgiving but it will be worth it. My first appt is 11/30! According to first day of my last period I am about 5 weeks along!:)
